The academic collaboration between Binus University in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, continues to flourish with the recent guest lecture delivered by Muhamad Nanang Suprayogi, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Binus University. The guest lecture held on October 15, 2024, in Monash University, Clayton Campus. The lecture was a key moment in the ongoing partnership between the two prestigious universities, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration in the field of educational psychology.

Dr. Pearl Subban, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Education at Monash University, hosted the session, which focused on “Differentiated Instruction and Kurikulum Merdeka: The Educational Quality Progress in Indonesia.” This important topic highlights Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to reform its educational system and adapt teaching strategies to better meet the diverse needs of students. The lecture drew the attention of students, educators, and researchers eager to understand the strides Indonesia is making in this regard.

 

During the lecture, Dr. Suprayogi discussed Indonesia’s implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka, a curriculum designed to give schools more autonomy and flexibility, particularly in addressing different learning needs through differentiated instruction. The comprehensive approach aims to uplift educational quality and tackle long-standing challenges in the nation’s education system.
